In a first since TRAI’s new Regulations and Tariff Orders have kicked in, the Ld. Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Authority allows a Broadcaster to audit the conditional access systems of Multi System Operators’ (MSOs) Digicablecomm and Multireach Systems. The Order also stated that any post-audit discrepancies will have to be compensated by way of payment of differential amount. The present Order has come in the wake of TRAI finding that some MSOs are not complying with the TRAI Regulations. The Order dated 03.05.2019 in Broadcasting Petition No.’s 99/2019 and 100/2019 titled Sony Pictures vs. Digicablecomm and Sony Pictures vs. Multireach Systems can be perused on the website of Ld.
